Free Private Therapy

for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and people impacted by trauma in Alberta

Help is better when it's free

Therapy Alberta is fostering healing through community-funded care.

For decades, psychology has been researching disparities between groups of peoples. We're bridging the gap and changing society from the ground up.

Therapy Alberta is an independent, profit for good, non-government therapy group practice serving Calgary & Alberta.

When psychologists and therapists practice outside of publicly funded programs, they are not funded by the government. Private therapy provided by Therapy Alberta is not funded by the government. Private therapists often have more independence, freedom, control, and flexibility to work with clients from their own unique approach, and can offer more individualized care for a longer time frame.

Carol Korenowski is the owner and founder of Therapy Alberta and an activist writer and public speaker. She is writing and publishing her upcoming book Charge up your heart! 3 keys to Self Love. The book offers readers across the world a solution to break free from fear, heal trauma, end abuse and become love.

Carol is committed to decolonizing mental healthcare.

As part of her commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Carol is creating safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free private mental health therapy for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma in Alberta.

The average private therapy session is $200/hour. If you have insurance benefits or you can afford to pay for private therapy out of pocket, accessing therapy is an act of self care and self healing.

Therapy Alberta respectfully acknowledges we are supported by the land of Turtle Island, now called Canada. Turtle Island is the home of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have travelled, gathered, lived on and cared for these lands for centuries. Calling Canada our home is a privilege and responsibility. Declarations of land are only one component of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

We are committed to new communities of decolonization. We strive to create safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free mental health care for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma. Support our mission today.
