Feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or just not yourself?

Bonnie Kelly R Prov Psych & Affirming Therapist

Maybe it feels like no one really gets you. Like you’re expected to keep it all together, but inside, it’s a different story: a mashup of emotions, thoughts, questions, and pressure (so much pressure). Trying to make sense of it all can feel like running a marathon...with one shoe...uphill...in the rain.

If that hits close to home, take a deep breath.

You’re not alone.

I work with people who feel overwhelmed, unheard, anxious, disconnected, or just plain stuck.

Whether you’re 14 or 44 and wondering “is it just me?” It’s not. And you’re welcome here.

My name is Bonnie, and I'm a Registered Provisional Psychologist based on Treaty 7 land in Calgary, Alberta. I'm Canadian with Irish, Scottish, and French roots.

I offer online therapy for teens, adults, and parents navigating the big stuff: emotions, identity, life changes, and “what even is happening?” moments.

Let’s be real. Therapy can sound like something out of a movie: dramatic music, uncomfortable silences, awkward chair angles. But in real life? It’s a lot more human.

In our sessions, you’ll find a space that’s open, kind, and judgment-free. You can take off the mask, swear if you need to, cry if you want to, laugh if you can. No pressure. No “fixing.” Just
space to be, and figure things out with someone in your corner.

I’m continually in awe of the courage people show just by showing up. You don’t have to carry everything alone anymore. I’ll meet you where you’re at and walk with you as we untangle the
hard stuff and build something new.

I specialize in supporting:

  • Individuals aged 12+ — teens, young adults, and adults

  • Neurodiverse humans (including ADHD, Autism, and more)

  • Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community including gender-diverse and trans folks

  • Parents trying to support their kids

My approach is affirming, inclusive, and centered around you, your story, your voice, your weirdness, your brilliance. We’ll build a therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, and a little humor when it helps (because sometimes, laughing at the chaos is part of the healing).

Therapy with me isn’t a lecture or a list of things to “fix.” It’s collaborative, we’re a team.

You bring your experience, insight, and voice. I bring tools, strategies, questions (the helpful kind), and a deep respect for who you are and where you’ve been.

I work from a strength-based, relational approach, which means we focus on what’s working, what’s possible, and what’s real.

You are not broken. You are already enough. And from here, we can build something stronger.

We can work on:

  • Managing emotions when they’re all over the place

  • Anxiety, stress, burnout, or feeling meh

  • Identity exploration, including gender and self-expression

  • School pressure, friendship drama, and family stuff

  • Setting boundaries (and actually sticking to them)

  • Building self-worth, confidence, and compassion

If you’re curious, or wondering if we’d be a good fit, let’s talk.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, get a feel for things, and decide if therapy with me feels right.

You can also book your first session online, and yes, I’m currently accepting new clients.

Therapy Alberta is a woman-owned and operated, independent, profit for good, non-government, private therapy clinic based in Calgary, AB, serving individuals, couples, and families across Alberta

Therapy Alberta respectfully acknowledges we are supported by the land of Turtle Island, now called Canada. Turtle Island is the home of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have travelled, gathered, lived on and cared for these lands for centuries. Calling Canada our home is a privilege and responsibility. Declarations of land are only one component of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

We are committed to new communities of decolonization. We strive to create safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free mental health care for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma. Support our mission today.
