Do you feel overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in your relationships, or constantly trying to hold everything together?

Maybe you’ve learned to be strong, self-reliant, or easygoing just to stay connected.

Maybe you’ve been dismissed, misunderstood, or felt like your needs were “too much.”

Over time, these experiences can shape the way you show up with others and with yourself.

I work with adults and families navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the lasting impact of relational pain.

My name is Danielle Morran. I'm a Certified Canadian Counsellor and Anxiety Therapist. I am Canadian (of Ukrainian and Scottish origins) and live on Treaty 7 land in Chestermere, Alberta.

Whether you're struggling to express your needs, feeling trapped in reactive cycles, or longing to live with more clarity and connection, I’m here to help you come home to yourself.

Individual and family therapy with me is relational, somatic, and strength-based.

I believe healing happens through safe connection at your own pace, in your own way.

In our work, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and safely supported.

You get to bring your full self, and you’ll be met with compassion, warmth, and curiosity.

I’ll offer you a grounded, compassionate presence as we gently explore your story and the roots of your patterns.

We’ll begin by understanding what’s been getting in the way, and we’ll move toward what might support a more grounded and connected life.

Together, we’ll name what hurts, honor what’s helped, and explore what you’re ready to shift.

Whether we’re working through conflict, emotional reactivity, family dynamics, or the lingering weight of loss or trauma, our goal is the same: to help you return to yourself with more ease and self-trust.

Healing is a lifelong journey of making choices that align with who you are and what you need.

My role is to walk alongside you to witness, reflect, and support you in building a life that feels more authentic, safe, and aligned.

You are already doing the best you can with what you’ve been given. You don’t have to do it alone.

More than just my work:

  1. A quote I love: “We cannot rush what is meant to be unraveled slowly.” This captures how I’ve come to understand healing—not as a destination, but as a lifelong process of unfolding. In both my personal and professional life, I continue to meet this journey with patience, curiosity, and care, knowing that meaningful growth takes time and trust.

  2. What brings you me a sense of ease? Nature—the trees, the birds, the water. There’s something about the way nature both stirs and settles the nervous system in the most gentle way. It invites us to show up exactly as we are, without needing to perform or explain. For me, it offers a kind of safety and presence that feels unmatched.

  3. Something fun: I might not be able to name the artist or song title, but somehow I know all the lyrics. I’ve been lucky enough to explore 16 countries—and one of the most meaningful adventures was getting married in the Philippines.

Professional Background:

I’ve been in private practice for the past 2.5 years, supporting individuals and families through a relational, trauma-informed lens. I’m currently completing a two-year advanced training in somatic attachment therapy, which I’ll complete this fall. Before private practice, I spent seven years with Carya Calgary—working as a youth facilitator, family therapist, Functional Family Therapist, and eventually as a Clinical Lead Supervisor. My experience spans short-term, intensive, in-home, office, and virtual therapy settings.

Therapy Alberta is a woman-owned and operated, independent, profit for good, non-government, private therapy clinic based in Calgary, AB, serving individuals, couples, and families across Alberta

Therapy Alberta respectfully acknowledges we are supported by the land of Turtle Island, now called Canada. Turtle Island is the home of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have travelled, gathered, lived on and cared for these lands for centuries. Calling Canada our home is a privilege and responsibility. Declarations of land are only one component of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

We are committed to new communities of decolonization. We strive to create safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free mental health care for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma. Support our mission today.
