The world is not color-blind.

Many people of color have faced additional stress in Alberta because of their culture or the color of their skin.

Sometimes it's hard to talk about mental health or emotions when it's not a common part of your culture or it's taboo to talk about.

Going to therapy doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. Therapy is one way to make your life a little better. We will work with you, with your beliefs, and with your culture and identity.

  • Conforming in toxic situations or relationships

  • Racial trauma or discrimination

  • Immigration and adjusting to new cultures

We're here to support you.

Black Woman in Online Counselling Calgary & Alberta.webp

You can connect to a therapist anywhere in Calgary and Alberta.

The best therapist to meet the needs of your relationship might live in a different area. We love online therapy because it's convenient and flexible, especially for busy adults, teens and families.

Online therapy is covered by private insurance, and you may even find it's easier to connect online.

There's no commute, waiting room, or bumping into others. You are familiar with your environment, and have all your favorite comforts within reach.

We offer online video and phone therapy for BIPOC individuals, couples and families in Calgary and across Alberta. All you need is a phone, or for a video session, a device, internet, and a quiet place to talk. Some people choose their bedroom, office, dining room, living room, or a friend's place. Family members can be in the same of different spaces.

We're here for you and happy to meet wherever you are comfortable. We offer evening and weekend appointments to fit your lifestyle.

Our compassionate therapists want you to love yourself and the skin you're in.

We get it. We see all parts of you.

Our BIPOC therapists are the kind of people who want to join your journey and help you find safety and healing.

Therapy Alberta is an independent, profit for good, non-government therapy group practice serving Calgary & Alberta

Therapy Alberta respectfully acknowledges we are supported by the land of Turtle Island, now called Canada. Turtle Island is the home of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have travelled, gathered, lived on and cared for these lands for centuries. Calling Canada our home is a privilege and responsibility. Declarations of land are only one component of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

We are committed to new communities of decolonization. We strive to create safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free mental health care for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma. Support our mission today.
