Do you feel lost, alone, disconnected or unhappy?

Are you stuck in overwhelm?

Maybe you want to feel like yourself again.

I work with older teens, young adults, individuals, couples and all people in relationships and families.

My name is Samantha Kerr. I am an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist and a Registered Clinical Social Worker. I am of English and Scottish descent, Canadian born and raised, and I live on Treaty 7 land in Calgary.

I offer online therapy to create a safe and trusting place where you can explore the different parts of yourself and make sense of how you are feeling.

I am here to walk alongside you as you make this deeper connection with yourself.

Your unique feelings, thoughts, beliefs and view-of-self will be honored and respected.

I will help you develop ways to feel more connected and balanced in your life, see yourself in a new light, and make the growth you are longing to make.

Everyone has the innate ability to create positive change and feel more connected with themselves and others.

You can feel more balanced, connected and at ease in your life. You can make the personal growth you are longing for and feel more trusting and secure in your life.

I empower you with unconditional positive regard, acceptance and non-judgment to first help you accept yourself as you are, then make the changes you desire.

My role is to create a safe haven where you can show up exactly as you are and explore your inner world and emotions with confidence.

I specialize in individual, couple and family therapy with folks going through life transitions, healing from complex and relational trauma, or experiencing grief and loss.

I practice from a holistic whole person lens that incorporates body-based mindfulness to foster safety in your nervous system, and a trauma responsive lens that honors the impacts of your early and current attachment patterns with parents and partners.

It is possible to have agency and build more fulfilling relationships in your life. Let's work together to create a life where you feel more connected, understood, and at peace.

More than just my work:

  • Your favorite quote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" - Carl Rogers

  • What brings you a sense of ease? Yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, nature, my daughter's laugh

  • Something fun or interesting: I’ve lived in Ontario, Newfoundland, British Columbia and Alberta

Therapy Alberta is an independent, profit for good, non-government therapy group practice serving Calgary & Alberta

Therapy Alberta respectfully acknowledges we are supported by the land of Turtle Island, now called Canada. Turtle Island is the home of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have travelled, gathered, lived on and cared for these lands for centuries. Calling Canada our home is a privilege and responsibility. Declarations of land are only one component of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

We are committed to new communities of decolonization. We strive to create safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free mental health care for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma. Support our mission today.
