Do you feel lost, alone, or overwhelmed?

You might be stuck in survival mode, longing for something to change.

Maybe you just want to feel like yourself again.

I work with older teens, adults, couples and families navigating disconnection and relationship struggles.

My name is Samantha Kerr and I am a trauma therapist with advanced training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy.

I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker. I am of English and Scottish descent, Canadian born and raised, and I live on Treaty 7 land in Calgary.

I offer online therapy across Alberta to create a trusting place where you can explore what's going on inside.

I am here to walk alongside you as you build a deeper connection with yourself and those you love.

I am affirming and all parts of you are welcome here.

We’ll move at your pace to uncover patterns, make sense of what’s been hard, and build more safety within your body and relationships.

Everyone has the innate ability to create positive change and build a fulfilling life.

I empower you with unconditional positive regard, acceptance and non-judgment to first help you accept yourself as you are, then make the changes you desire.

My role is to create a safe haven where you can show up exactly as you are and explore your inner world and emotions with confidence.

I specialize in individual, couple and family therapy with folks going through life transitions, healing from complex and relational trauma, or experiencing grief and loss.

I welcome people in monogamous, open, queer, and non-traditional relationships. Whether you’re navigating connection with a partner, a parent, or with your own self, our work will help you feel more resourced and less alone.

I practice from a holistic whole person lens that incorporates body-based mindfulness to foster safety in your nervous system.

My work is attachment-focused, polyvagal-informed, and grounded in deep respect.

I hold a trauma responsive lens that honors the impacts of your early and current attachment patterns with parents and partners.

It is possible to have agency and build more fulfilling relationships in your life.

You don’t need to have the right words to begin—just a willingness to reach out. Together, we’ll build something real: safety, clarity, and a path forward.

More than just my work:

  • Your favorite quote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" - Carl Rogers

  • What brings you a sense of ease? Yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, nature, my daughter's laugh

  • Something fun or interesting: I’ve lived in Ontario, Newfoundland, British Columbia and Alberta

Sam is a Registered Clinical Social Worker with a Master in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary. Therapy Alberta is a woman-owned and operated, independent, profit for good, non-government, private therapy clinic based in Calgary, AB, serving individuals, couples, and families across Alberta

Therapy Alberta respectfully acknowledges we are supported by the land of Turtle Island, now called Canada. Turtle Island is the home of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have travelled, gathered, lived on and cared for these lands for centuries. Calling Canada our home is a privilege and responsibility. Declarations of land are only one component of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

We are committed to new communities of decolonization. We strive to create safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free mental health care for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma. Support our mission today.
