Feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself?

Life can feel heavy when you’re carrying too much on your own.

You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or a major life transition.

You might feel distant from yourself, unsure of how to move forward, or overwhelmed by emotions you can’t quite name.

You don’t have to go through this alone.

My name is Samantha Kerr and I am a trauma therapist with advanced training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy.

I am a Registered Social Worker with Clinical Certification. I am of English and Scottish descent, Canadian born and raised, and I live on Treaty 7 land in Calgary.

I offer a safe, compassionate space for online therapy where you can slow down and explore what’s happening inside.

Together, we’ll make sense of your emotions, your patterns of coping, and the ways you’ve learned to protect yourself.

With warmth and curiosity, I’ll support you in building a more balanced, connected, and empowered sense of self.

My Specialties

I work best with:

  • Older teens and young adults navigating transitions

  • Adults experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, or burnout

  • Perinatal and post-partum mental health challenges

  • Individuals healing from complex or developmental trauma

  • People in monogamous, open, queer, and non-traditional relationships

My Approach

My role is to create a safe haven where you can show up as you are and explore your inner world with confidence.

My work is holistic, relational, attachment-based, and trauma-responsive to foster safety in your nervous system.

I integrate somatic and body-based mindfulness with evidence-based therapies like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

The foundation of our work will be an egalitarian relationship where you feel heard, respected, and understood.

What You Can Expect

In our work together, you can expect to feel welcomed just as you are.

Therapy with me is not about fixing you, but about creating a space where you can explore, make sense of your emotions, and connect more deeply with yourself.

Over time, you may notice more balance, clarity, and confidence in how you relate to yourself and others.

A Bit About Me

I’ve worked in the field of mental health for over 15 years and bring both professional training and a genuine openness to every session.

Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, time in nature, and the laughter of my daughter.

Next Step

I am accepting new clients in Alberta for weekday daytimes and offer free 20 minute consultations.

If you’re ready to take the first step toward feeling more at ease and connected in your life, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Therapy Alberta is a woman-owned and operated, independent, profit for good, non-government, private therapy clinic based in Calgary, AB, serving individuals, couples, and families across Alberta

Therapy Alberta respectfully acknowledges we are supported by the land of Turtle Island, now called Canada. Turtle Island is the home of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have travelled, gathered, lived on and cared for these lands for centuries. Calling Canada our home is a privilege and responsibility. Declarations of land are only one component of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

We are committed to new communities of decolonization. We strive to create safe, affirming, anti-racist and anti-oppressive spaces to welcome and provide free mental health care for people from Indigenous, Black, Color and LGBTQ+ communities and those impacted by trauma. Support our mission today.
